In the 16th century, Christians adopted this practice and modified it to honor Jesus. Today, many people continue this tradition by burning a Yule log or a candle to represent the light of Jesus.

Mistletoe

Mistletoe is a common decoration found during the Christmas season. While it has become associated with romance and kissing, the tradition actually dates back to ancient Celtic culture. The Celts believed that the white berries of mistletoe were magical and could bring good luck and ward off evil.

In the 18th century, Christians adopted this custom and incorporated it into their Christmas celebrations. To this day, mistletoe is still used as a symbol of peace and goodwill during the holiday season.

Giving Gifts
